The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a bit better than the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, getting a score of 77.5 against 71.7. Even though the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 and Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime were only released 7 months apart, Xiaomi Mi Max 2's construction is somewhat thinner but also much heavier than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime counts with just a bit better looking display than Xiaomi Mi Max 2, because although it has a lot smaller screen, and they both have the same exact resolution of 1080 x 1920px, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime also counts with more pixels per inch in the display.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with a CPU that's very similar to Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime's processor, and although the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has more RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores. The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 features a way bigger memory to store more games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and although they both have a SD extension slot that allows up to 128 GB, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also has 96 GB more internal storage.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 has a slightly better camera than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, because although it has a worse resolution back camera, and they both have a same size camera aperture, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also counts with a lot better video resolution. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 counts with better battery performance than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, because it has 5300mAh of battery capacity.
Although Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, giving up some specs and features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
