The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S is much better than the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, getting a overall score of 79 against 71.7. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S construction has the same thickness than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, but it is heavier. Both of these devices include Android OS (Operating System), but Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has older 11 version and Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S counts with just a bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and although they both have 8 cores, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S also has a higher amount of RAM. The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime features a little sharper display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, because although it has a really smaller display and a little worse resolution of 1080 x 1920, it also counts with a bit better pixel number in each inch in the display.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S counts with a way bigger memory capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, because it has a SD extension slot that supports up to 512 GB and 64 GB internal storage.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S features greater battery performance than Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, because it has 5020mAh of battery capacity instead of 4100mAh.
Although Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, resigning a couple specifications.
