Comparison review
Huawei Mate 9 Pro is slightly better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, getting a general score of 78.7 against 74.4. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's construction is just a little lighter and a bit thinner than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, despite of the fact that it was released just a bit further than a year before. Both phones we compare here work with Android OS, but Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a newer 8.0 Oreo version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has Android 7.1 Nougat version, so it provides some additional features.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features just a bit better performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has 2 GB more RAM memory. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a little more vivid screen than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a greater screen pixel density and a better 1440 x 2560px resolution.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro has a little bit better storage capacity to store more games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with more internal memory capacity. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro's battery duration is just as good as the battery lifetime in Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro captures a bit better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and although they both have a same size camera aperture and a back-facing camera with a 12 megapixels resolution, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro also has a lot better 3840x2160 video quality.
