Samsung Galaxy J8's design has the same thickness than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, but it is just a little lighter. Both of these phones use Android OS (Operating System), but the Samsung Galaxy J8 has the older 10 version while Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has Android 7.1 Nougat.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 counts with a bit superior processor than Samsung Galaxy J8. They have the same RAM memory amount and a Octa-Core CPU. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has a much better display than Samsung Galaxy J8, and although they both have a display of the same size, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 also has a better display density and a lot higher resolution of 1080 x 2160.
