Comparison review
Sony Xperia 5 is a bit better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, having an 81 score against 74.6. Even though the Sony Xperia 5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 were released only a couple months apart, the Sony Xperia 5 is a little bit thinner and lighter. The Xperia 5 counts with a little faster processor than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Xperia 5 also has 3 GB more RAM memory.
The Sony Xperia 5 has a bit sharper display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a bit higher 1080 x 2520 pixels resolution and a just a bit greater pixel density. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 features a much better camera than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not nice for shooting photos and video in low-light environments, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same (4K) video quality, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 also counts with a much bigger back-facing camera sensor shooting much higher quality photographs and a lot higher resolution back facing camera.
The Sony Xperia 5 has a superior storage capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, because it has 128 GB internal memory capacity and a SD card slot that allows up to 512 GB. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 has better battery duration than Xperia 5, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
Although Sony Xperia 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia 5, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, letting go a couple specs and features.
