HTC Merge is a mid-to-low level phone, which counts with a 5 MP back camera, a medium 3.8 inches capacitive screen and a great performance 800 MHz processing unit.
The HTC Merge is a little bit thick for current standards, being as thick as 0.54 inches. Apparently HTC forgot about optimizing the weight, leaving it live with a weight of 6.98 ounces.
This phone includes a good looking 800 x 480 3.8" display, making everything look beautiful. Its display uses S-LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.
HTC ships this phone with a powerful processing unit running at 800 MHz, included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 MSM7630 chip with 512 MB of RAM. Helping with graphic calculations, the HTC Merge also has an Adreno 205 GPU working at 245 MHz. This phone has a 2 GB internal storage, a fair quantity that should be considering it also has an SD memory slot .
This phone provides wi-fi capability (although it can't be provided to other devices acting as a wireless router) and fast 3G internet connection, supported by HSPA, UMTS, EV-DO A and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a SIM card to connect to GSM networks and it can work with both CDMA and GSM.
This device only features a 5 mega-pixels back side camera. This phone can also capture videos in 1280x720 (HD). To complete the camera, it also has auto-focus and flash.
This device counts with a medium 1400 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery providing the HTC Merge with a not very long battery life. According to HTC, this cellphone has a reported stand by time of 330 hs and a talk time of 6.3 hs.
This device also features a few nice characteristics like Bluetooth (2.1) and GPS Navigation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
The HTC Merge is not very convinient considering it costs 70 dollars, while some similar devices are being sold for much less than that.
