HTC Windows Phone 8X Review

HTC Windows Phone 8X is a very solid phone launched back in the year 2012, having a 4.3 inches multi touch capacitive screen, a high speed 1500 MHz Dual-Core CPU, and 2 cameras, an 8 megapixels back-facing camera and a 2 MP front camera.

HTC decided to power the HTC Windows Phone 8X using a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip, backed up by a high performance 1500 megahertz Dual-Core CPU with only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a bit disappointing for such a powerful cellphone. Handling graphic rendering, it also uses an Adreno 225 graphic processing unit ticking at 400 MHz. A good advantage of this cellphone is its quite large 16 GB internal memory and although it doesn't have a slot for external memory cards, it should be enough to store a couple hundred games and applications, although it may not be enough if you are planning to install a couple of the heaviest games available nowadays or taking tons of pictures and videos.

HTC did a very nice job making the HTC Windows Phone 8X weight just 4.59 oz. This cellphone's thickness of 0.4 inches is a little far from today's standards, but it still feels in the hand. HTC made the HTC Windows Phone 8Xavailable only in many color options: black, yellow, blue and red.

HTC equipped this cellphone with a spectacular 4.3 inches display, and a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, which makes it impossible to even distinguish the pixels forming the display. This display uses S-LCD 2 capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

The HTC Windows Phone 8X is equipped with two cameras, an 8 MP back facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. It can also shoot Full HD 1920x1080 videos at 30 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also features a few interesting characteristics: flash, geo tagging and auto-focus.

The HTC Windows Phone 8X offers wi-fi connection (and it can be provided to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), 4G (LTE) high speed connection and also HSPA+ connection type, a bit slower 4G network and fast 3G data connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS, EV-DO A and EDGE technologies. The HTC Windows Phone 8X uses a Micro SIM card for GSM networks and it can connect to both CDMA and GSM.

This phone also includes a lot of great features such as Wireless charger compatibility, NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your cellphone close to another NFC device or tag), Bluetooth (3.1, EDR) and GPS Localization, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The HTC Windows Phone 8X counts with a mid sized 1800 mAh Li-Polymer removable battery providing this phone with a not very long battery duration. HTC says this phone has a 11.3 hours talk time and a 290 hs stand by time.

The HTC Windows Phone 8X is not a good choice considering it costs 569 dollars, while other similar cellphones are being sold much cheaper than that. No matter whether you will use it as a social phone, need a work phone, want this cellphone for gaming or you love taking photographs, you will definitely be very happy with it.
