Nokia N900 is a mid-end cellphone launched many years ago, provisioned with a 3.5" display, a powerful 600 MHz CPU and a 5 MP back camera.
Nokia didn't put much effort to reduce weight in this 6.38 oz cellphone, far heavier than other similar devices. This phone is a little bit thick for nowadays standards, with its 0.77" thickness.
Nokia equipped this cellphone with a nice 3.5" display, and a resolution of 480 x 800 , which makes all pictures and videos look vivid. This display uses TFT resistive technology, but it's not multi-touch.
Nokia decided to equip this cellphone using a TI OMAP3430 chip, including a good processor ticking at 600 megahertz with as little as 256 MB RAM memory. Collaborating with graphic calculations, it also counts with a 200 megahertz PowerVR SGX530 graphics processing unit. An excellent feature of the Nokia N900 is its 32 GB big internal storage and a slot for an SD memory card, more than enough to store hundreds of apps and even the largest games available nowadays without thinking about how much memory is left.
The Nokia N900 is only equipped with a 5 megapixels back-facing camera. Its back-facing camera lens has a maximum 2.8 aperture so it struggles to take clear photographs in poor lighting environments. The camera also has a few interesting characteristics like auto-focus, flash and geo tagging.
The Nokia N900 includes Wi-Fi connection (but it can't share it with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot) and 3G fast data connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a SIM card for GSM connection.
This cellphone also features a couple of useful features such as Infrared Transmitter, Bluetooth (for communication with other phones and accessories) and GPS Geolocation, and a few sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.
The Nokia N900 has a 1320 mAh medium Li-Ion battery, which is not really enough for a thirsty phone like this. According to Nokia, this cellphone has an estimated stand by time of 288 hs and a talk time of 6.3 hs.
The Nokia N900 costs about $ 239, not a good offer for comparing with similar cellphones.
