Apple iPad Air has an overall score of 77.9, which is better than the Apple iPad 3's 69.5 general score. Apple iPad Air is a newer device, and it's also lighter and somewhat thinner than the Apple iPad 3. Both of these tablets include iOS OS (operating system), but Apple iPad Air has 8.x version and Apple iPad 3 has iOS 7.x, so it provides you a couple nice extra features.
The Apple iPad Air features a superior processing power than iPad 3, and although they both have 2 processing cores and the same RAM amount, the Apple iPad Air also has an extra graphics processor and a 64-bits processor. Apple iPad Air counts with a little sharper display than iPad 3. They have a screen with the same size, a greater pixels amount per screen inch and exactly the same resolution of 1536 x 2048.
Apple iPad Air counts with a slightly better camera than iPad 3. Both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, a 5 mega-pixels camera in the back, the same 1920x1080 video quality and a same size diafragm aperture. The Apple iPad Air features a lot bigger storage capacity for applications and games than iPad 3, because it has more internal storage capacity.
The Apple iPad 3 counts with greater battery life than iPad Air, because it has 11560mAh of battery capacity.
The iPad Air costs a little more than iPad 3, but you can get a better tablet for that extra money.
