Comparison review
The iPad Air has a global score of 77.7, which is a little bit better than iPad Air 2's 77.1 global score. Even being the best in our current comparison, the iPad Air is an older, noticeably thicker and just a little heavier tablet device than iPad Air 2. These devices come with the same iOS 8.x OS (Operating System), so they should provide you all the same operating system features.
Apple iPad Air 2 counts with a screen that is very similar to iPad Air's screen, they have the same exact resolution of 2048 x 1536px, the same display density and a screen with the same size. The iPad Air counts with a much greater storage to install games and applications than iPad Air 2, because it has 128 GB internal storage.
The iPad Air counts with a bit more powerful CPU than iPad Air 2, because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, and they both have a 64 bits CPU, the iPad Air also counts with more cores and a graphics co-processor. IPad Air 2 captures clearer videos and photos than iPad Air, and although they both have a F2.4 aperture, the same 1920x1080 video definition and the same video frame rate, the iPad Air 2 also has a camera in the back with a way better resolution.
IPad Air features improved battery performance than Apple iPad Air 2, because it has an 8820mAh battery size instead of 7340mAh.
Apple iPad Air costs a bit more money than the Apple iPad Air 2, but you can get a better tablet for that extra money.
