The Google Pixel Slate is just a bit better than the Apple iPad Air, getting a 79.3 score against 77.9. Even though the Google Pixel Slate is extremely heavier than the Apple iPad Air, it's a bit thinner and a lot newer. Google Pixel Slate has Chrome OS OS, and Apple iPad Air works with iOS 8.x OS.
Apple iPad Air features a bit better display than Google Pixel Slate, although it has a way smaller display, a just a bit less pixels per screen inch and a lot lower resolution of 1536 x 2048px. Apple iPad Air features a little faster processing unit than Google Pixel Slate, because although it has less RAM, and they both have 2 cores, the Apple iPad Air also counts with a 64-bits processor and an extra GPU.
Google Pixel Slate features a superior storage capacity to install games and applications than Apple iPad Air, because it has 256 GB internal memory capacity. The Google Pixel Slate has a bit better camera than iPad Air, and although they both have the same video quality and the same video frame rates, the Google Pixel Slate also has a much more mega pixels camera in the back and a much larger aperture to capture better low light images and video.
IPad Air counts with a much longer battery life than Google Pixel Slate.
Although Google Pixel Slate is a better device, it costs a lot more than iPad Air, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the iPad Air. If you want to save some dollars, you can get iPad Air, giving up a couple features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
