Comparison review
Apple iPad 2 has a global score of 62.1, which is a little bit better than Galaxy Tab 8.9's 58.1 global score. Apple iPad 2 is a much heavier tablet than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, but they have the same thickness. The Apple iPad 2 works with iOS 7.x operating system, and Galaxy Tab 8.9 works with Android 3.0 operating system.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a sharper screen than iPad 2, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a bit higher resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels and a better quantity of pixels per inch in the screen. The iPad 2's storage capacity for applications and games is very similar to the Galaxy Tab 8.9 one, both have the same 64 GB internal memory capacity.
The Apple iPad 2 features a little faster CPU than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, and although they both have 2 processing cores, the Apple iPad 2 also has an additional graphics processor. IPad 2 features a little better battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a 6944mAh battery size against 6000mAh.
IPad 2 takes just a bit better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, although it has a worse (HD) video quality and a camera with way less mega pixels.
Although iPad 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Galaxy Tab 8.9, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Galaxy Tab 8.9. If you are trying to save some dollars, you can get Galaxy Tab 8.9, giving up a few features and specs, but you will get the most out of your budget.
