Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Review

Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) is a top-notch Android tablet device released some years ago, in 2013, which counts with an extremely fast Octa-Core processor (actually, there is a Quad-Core running at 1.9 GHz and an additional Quad-Core clocking at 1300 MHz), a big size 10.1 inches multi-touch screen, and two cameras, an 8 MP back camera and a 2 MP front facing camera.

Samsung didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 19.05 ounces tablet. Samsung made this device in two different color options: black and white. Even though this tablet is only 9.57" long and 6.75" wide, it manages to pack a 10.1 inches screen. The Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) is just 0.31" thick, making its way into the thinnest tablets podium.

Samsung decided to power this tablet with an extremely powerful Octa-Core processor (actually, there is a Quad-Core ticking at 1900 megahertz and an additional Quad-Core speeding at 1300 megahertz), bundled in a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa system chip and a huge 3 GB of RAM. To handle graphic rendering, this tablet also counts with a 600 MHz ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU. A nice advantage of this tablet is its quite large 16 GB internal storage and an external memory slot, which allows the user to store a couple hundred apps and games without any trouble.

This device provides Wi-Fi connectivity (and it can share it with other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G (LTE) fast data connection and also HSPA+ internet connection, that is a bit slower 4G network and 3G fast data connection, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, EV-DO A and EDGE technologies. The Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) uses a Micro SIM card for GSM services.

The Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) is equipped with two cameras, an 8 MP back facing camera and a 2 mega-pixels front-facing camera. It also captures videos up to 1920x1080 (Full HD). In addition, this portable tablet's camera also includes many interesting features like auto-focus, flash, face detection shooting, fast burst mode, geo tagging and smile detection shooting.

This tablet also includes a couple of cool characteristics as Infrared Transmitter, Bluetooth (provides communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Localization, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

The Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) counts with a 8220 mAh big Li-Ion non-replaceable battery, enough to provide the Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) with an amazing battery duration. An issue to take into account is that the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition)'s battery isn't replaceable so you won't be able to replace it when it begins to lose its charge, even though with such a great capacity you will probably replace this portable tablet before it becomes a real problem.

Samsung is selling the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) for $ 549, which is a high price for comparing with similar tablets. This tablet is a good choice it doesn't matter whether you need it for work, want this tablet mainly for social networks and internet browsing, love photography or will use it as a gaming tablet.
