The Huawei Mate X2 has a global score of 89.1, which is a bit better than iPhone 8's 85 score. Huawei Mate X2's design is extremely newer than iPhone 8's, but it's just a little bit thicker and incredibly heavier. The Apple iPhone 8 has just a bit better performance than Huawei Mate X2, because although it has an inferior number of cores and a lower amount of RAM memory, it also counts with a 64 bits CPU.
The Huawei Mate X2 features a bit more vivid screen than Apple iPhone 8, because it has a much bigger screen, more pixels per inch of screen and a way better 2200 x 2480px resolution. The Huawei Mate X2's memory for applications and games is just as good as Apple iPhone 8's one, they have equal 256 GB internal memory.
The Huawei Mate X2 shoots much clearer photos and videos than iPhone 8, because although it has slower 30 frames per second video frame rates and a smaller camera aperture, and they both have the same video quality, the Huawei Mate X2 also counts with a way better 50 mega pixels resolution back camera.

Although Huawei Mate X2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Apple iPhone 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Apple iPhone 8. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Apple iPhone 8, letting go a couple features and specs, but you will get the most out of your budget.
