The iPhone 8 has a global score of 85, which is a little bit better than Xperia 1's 82.6 global score. The iPhone 8 body is just a bit thinner and lighter than the Xperia 1, despite of the fact that it was released just 20 months before. The Xperia 1 features a better looking display than iPhone 8, because although it has a lot darker screen, it also counts with a much better 1644 x 3840 resolution, a much higher pixel density and a much bigger display.
The iPhone 8 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has less and slower cores and a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with a 64 bits processor. The Xperia 1 counts with a slightly bigger storage for games and applications than Apple iPhone 8, because although it has only 128 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that holds up to 512 GB.
The Xperia 1 counts with a superior battery duration than Apple iPhone 8, because it has a 3330mAh battery size instead of 1821mAh. Apple iPhone 8 takes clearer photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a smaller camera aperture and a tinier sensor capturing less light and washed colors, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a same resolution camera in the back, the Apple iPhone 8 also counts with better video frame rates.
