Comparison review

Xperia XZ1 has an overall score of 78.3, which is slightly better than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1)'s 73.1 overall score. The Xperia XZ1 is a thinner and somewhat lighter cellphone than the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), even when they were released only a few months apart. The Xperia XZ1 features just a little better hardware performance than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1). Both of them have 8 CPU cores and the same RAM amount.

The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) features a bit more vivid display than Sony Xperia XZ1, because although it has a bit worse pixels density, it also counts with a larger screen and a quite better 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution. Xperia XZ1 features a superior camera than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ1 also has better video frame rate, a larger diafragm aperture and a lot better resolution back facing camera.

The Xperia XZ1 and Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) have extremely similar memory capacity to store more games and applications, both have exactly the same 64 GB internal storage capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 1,95 TB. Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) counts with a way better battery performance than Xperia XZ1, because it has an 85 percent bigger battery size.

Although Sony Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1). So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Sony Xperia XZ1, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), giving up a couple specs and features.
