The Google Pixel XL is a little bit better than Moto Z3 Play, with a global score of 81.3 against 76.3. Even being the best in this comparison, the Google Pixel XL is an older, a little heavier and notably thicker phone than the Moto Z3 Play. The Moto Z3 Play's processing unit is just as good as Google Pixel XL's processing unit, and although the Moto Z3 Play has more CPU cores (although they are slower), they both have a 4 GB RAM memory.
Google Pixel XL counts with a little bit better display than Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a higher 1440 x 2560 resolution and a better pixels density. Google Pixel XL shoots slightly better videos and photos than Moto Z3 Play, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not recommended for shooting pictures and/or video in low light situations, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate and the same (4K) video quality, the Google Pixel XL also counts with a larger back-facing camera sensor and a better 12.3 megapixels resolution back facing camera.
Motorola Moto Z3 Play features a way bigger memory capacity to store more apps and games than Google Pixel XL, because although it has less internal storage, it also counts with an external memory slot that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB. Google Pixel XL has just a bit better battery lifetime than Moto Z3 Play, because it has 3450mAh of battery capacity against 3000mAh.
Although Google Pixel XL is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Moto Z3 Play, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Moto Z3 Play. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can get Moto Z3 Play, giving up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
