Samsung Galaxy Note9 is slightly better than Huawei P40, with an 87.1 score against 86.4. The Samsung Galaxy Note9 is an older, somewhat heavier and a little thicker cellphone than Huawei P40. The Galaxy Note9 and Huawei P40 count with really similar processors, they have the same number of cores and a 6 GB RAM.

Galaxy Note9 has a slightly better screen than Huawei P40, because it has a just a bit greater screen density, a bit larger display and a higher resolution of 1440 x 2960px. The Galaxy Note9 counts with a lot bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Huawei P40, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Galaxy Note9 also has a slot for an SD memory card that supports up to 512 GB.

The Huawei P40 counts with a better camera than Samsung Galaxy Note9, because although it has a lot tinier aperture which is not recommended for low light images and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and the same video frame rate, the Huawei P40 also counts with a much bigger sensor which provides a lot better image and video quality and a way more mega pixels back-facing camera.

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 features a little better battery life than Huawei P40, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity against 3800mAh.

Although Galaxy Note9 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Huawei P40, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Huawei P40. If you want to save a few dollars, you can buy Huawei P40, and give up some specs and features, but you will get the most with your savings.
