Motorola DROID MAXX 2 is just a bit better than the Moto E5, getting a overall score of 67.7 against 66. Although Motorola DROID MAXX 2 is way older and somewhat thicker than the Moto E5, it's body is still a bit lighter. These phones come with Android operating system, but the Motorola DROID MAXX 2 has the older 5.1 version and Moto E5 has Android 8.0 Oreo version.
The Motorola DROID MAXX 2 counts with a much sharper display than Moto E5, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a greater pixels amount per screen inch and a way higher 1920 x 1080px resolution. Moto E5 counts with a bit superior CPU than Motorola DROID MAXX 2, and although they both have a 2 GB RAM, the Moto E5 also has more processing cores (although slower).
Moto E5 and Motorola DROID MAXX 2 both feature very similar memory for applications, games, photos and videos, both of them have exactly the same internal memory capacity and a SD memory slot that holds up to 128 GB. Motorola DROID MAXX 2 has a much better camera than Motorola Moto E5, and although they both have the same 30 fps video frame rate, a same size aperture and the same video definition, the Motorola DROID MAXX 2 also has a much better 21 MP resolution camera.
Moto E5 features just a bit better battery lifetime than Motorola DROID MAXX 2, because it has a 10% more battery size.
Motorola DROID MAXX 2 costs the same than Moto E5, making this phone a simple decision.
