The Google Nexus 5 has a general score of 76, which is slightly better than the Motorola Moto X (2014)'s overall score of 73.4. Both of these phones work with Android operating system, but Google Nexus 5 has 4.4.3 version while Motorola Moto X (2014) has Android 5.0 version. The Google Nexus 5 is an older phone than the Motorola Moto X (2014), but Google made it thinner and just a bit lighter.

Google Nexus 5 counts with a screen that is very similar to Moto X (2014)'s display, because although the Google Nexus 5 has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it also counts with a little bit greater pixel count per inch of screen. Google Nexus 5's memory capacity to install games and applications is very similar to the Moto X (2014) one, both of them have equal internal storage capacity.

Motorola Moto X (2014) features a little faster processing unit than Google Nexus 5. Both have a 2 GB RAM memory, 4 cpu cores and a 450 megahertz graphics processing unit. Moto X (2014) counts with a better camera than Google Nexus 5, because it has a way better 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, a lot more mega-pixels back camera, a bigger back camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a bigger camera aperture for better low light photos and video.

Google Nexus 5 and Motorola Moto X (2014) have extremely similar batteries.

Although Google Nexus 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Moto X (2014), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Moto X (2014). So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy the Google Nexus 5, else you can save some dollars and buy the Moto X (2014), letting go some specs and features.
