Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has a general score of 77.4, which is a little bit better than Moto Z Play's 74.4 score. Both phones in this review use Android OS (operating system), but the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo version. Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2)'s design is extremely newer, but thicker and just a little bit heavier than Moto Z Play.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) counts with just a bit better screen than Moto Z Play, because although it has a quite inferior count of pixels per inch in the display, it also counts with a little bit bigger screen and a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2280px. Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has a way bigger memory for games and applications than Moto Z Play, and although they both have a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) also has 128 GB internal storage.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) counts with a bit better processing unit than Motorola Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) also has a higher amount of RAM. Motorola Moto Z Play shoots a little bit better pictures and videos than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2), because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not recommended for low-light images and video, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Motorola Moto Z Play also counts with a way more MP camera in the back.
