Huawei Mate 20 has an overall score of 79.5, which is just a bit better than the Moto Z Play's 74.4 general score. Both of these phones use Android operating system, but the Huawei Mate 20 has 9.0 Pie version and Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo, giving you some extra features and performance enhancements. The Huawei Mate 20 design is extremely newer, but somewhat heavier and thicker than Moto Z Play.
Huawei Mate 20 features a bit superior CPU than Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei Mate 20 also has a higher amount of RAM memory. Huawei Mate 20 has a little sharper display than Moto Z Play, because although it has a just a little less pixels per inch of display, it also counts with a little higher resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels and a bigger display.
The Huawei Mate 20 captures clearer photographs and videos than Moto Z Play, because although it has a back-facing camera with much less mega pixels and a worse video quality, it also counts with a larger aperture to capture better low-light photos and video. Moto Z Play counts with a superior memory capacity for games and applications than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has 0 less internal memory capacity, it also counts with an external memory card slot that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB.
Huawei Mate 20 has a bit better battery life than Motorola Moto Z Play, because it has a 4000mAh battery size.
Although Huawei Mate 20 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Moto Z Play, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Moto Z Play. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Huawei Mate 20, else you can save some dollars and buy the Moto Z Play, resigning some specifications.
