The Galaxy A8 Star is a little bit better than the Nothing Phone (2), having a global score of 82.1 against 75.6. Both of these phones use Android OS, but the Galaxy A8 Star has 9.0 Pie version and Nothing Phone (2) has Android 12 version, so it provides a couple nice extra features and performance enhancements. Despite of the fact that Galaxy A8 Star is noticeably older than the Nothing Phone (2), it's body is somewhat thinner and a little lighter.

Nothing Phone (2) takes much better photos and videos than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not nice for shooting images or video in low-light environments, and they both have the same video definition, the Nothing Phone (2) also counts with higher video frame rates, a back-facing camera with lot more mega-pixels and a way bigger camera sensor capturing way higher quality pictures.
Nothing Phone (2) counts with better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 4700mAh battery size.
