Comparison review
The Xperia 5 is slightly better than the OnePlus 8 UW, having a score of 81 against 75.9. Even though the Xperia 5 and the OnePlus 8 UW were only released with a couple of months difference, Xperia 5's construction is just a little bit thicker but also just a little lighter than the OnePlus 8 UW. The Xperia 5 features a CPU that is very similar to the processor in OnePlus 8 UW, and although the Xperia 5 has a lower amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.
OnePlus 8 UW has a little bit better screen than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has a bit worse 1080 x 2400px resolution and a little bit less pixels per inch of screen, it also counts with a bit bigger display. OnePlus 8 UW has a much better camera than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not recommended for shooting photos in low light environments, and they both have the same video definition, the OnePlus 8 UW also counts with a way larger sensor providing a way higher image quality, a much higher resolution camera and better video frame rates.
The Xperia 5 counts with a much greater memory to store more games and applications than OnePlus 8 UW, and although they both have equal 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Xperia 5 also has a slot for an SD memory card that holds a maximum of 512 GB. The OnePlus 8 UW counts with a really longer battery duration than Xperia 5, because it has 4300mAh of battery capacity instead of 3140mAh.
Xperia 5 costs a bit more money than the OnePlus 8 UW, but it's still a convenient choice, as you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
