Comparison review
Galaxy M31 has a score of 86.5, which is slightly better than the Galaxy A40's 79.6 general score. Galaxy M31's body is newer, but somewhat thicker and extremely heavier than the Galaxy A40. Both of these devices work with the same Android 11 OS. Samsung Galaxy M31 features a bit better screen than Galaxy A40, because although it has a little lower pixel density, and they both have the same 1080 x 2340 resolution, the Samsung Galaxy M31 also counts with a little larger display.
Galaxy M31's memory to install applications and games is just as good as Galaxy A40's one, they have a SD extension slot that allows up to 512 GB and exactly the same internal memory capacity. The Galaxy M31 counts with just a little better performance than Galaxy A40, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy M31 also has more RAM memory.
The Galaxy M31 has a much better camera than Samsung Galaxy A40, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for capturing images or video in poorly lited situations, it also counts with a way more mega-pixels back-facing camera, a way larger sensor taking much better quality pictures and videos and a much higher 3840x2160 video resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy M31 features a much better battery lifetime than Galaxy A40, because it has a 94 percent bigger battery size.
