Samsung Galaxy A42 has a score of 87, which is a little bit better than Samsung Galaxy A12's score of 80.3. Both phones in this review come with Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy A42 has newer 11 version while Samsung Galaxy A12 has Android 10 version, giving lots of additional features. The Samsung Galaxy A42 body is a little thinner and a little lighter than Samsung Galaxy A12, although they were released with only 2 months difference.
Galaxy A12 has a bit sharper display than Samsung Galaxy A42, because although it has a little bit smaller display, and they both have the same exact 720 x 1600 resolution, the Galaxy A12 also counts with a little greater pixels number in each display inch. Galaxy A42 counts with a greater memory capacity to store more games and applications than Galaxy A12, because although it has a SD card slot that holds 24 GB smaller, it also counts with more internal storage capacity.
Galaxy A12 counts with a bit more powerful CPU than Samsung Galaxy A42. Both of them have a 4 GB RAM memory and 8 processing cores.
