Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy A42 is better than Xiaomi Mi 5s, with an 87 score against 76.4. Both devices in our current comparison use Android OS, but Samsung Galaxy A42 has the older 11 version and Xiaomi Mi 5s has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version. The Samsung Galaxy A42 body is a lot newer than Xiaomi Mi 5s's, although it's noticeably heavier and just a bit thicker.
Galaxy A42 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM memory, the Galaxy A42 also has a higher number of cores. Xiaomi Mi 5s has a much sharper screen than Galaxy A42, because although it has a way smaller display, it also counts with much more pixels per screen inch and a higher 1080 x 1920 resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 features a very superior storage capacity for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Samsung Galaxy A42 also has a slot for an external memory card that holds up to 1000 GB. Galaxy A42 has a much longer battery duration than Xiaomi Mi 5s, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity.
The Samsung Galaxy A42 shoots better pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi 5s, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition and the same video frame rate, the Samsung Galaxy A42 also has a back facing camera with way more mega pixels and a larger aperture for better low-light captures.
