Samsung Galaxy M31 has an overall score of 86.5, which is just a bit better than the Galaxy A9 (2018)'s global score of 85.2. Even though Samsung Galaxy M31 is newer than Galaxy A9 (2018), it's somewhat thicker and a little bit heavier. The Samsung Galaxy M31 has just a bit better looking display than Galaxy A9 (2018), because it has a slightly better 1080 x 2340 resolution, a just a little better pixel density and a little bigger screen.
The Galaxy A9 (2018) has much more memory capacity to install games and applications than Galaxy M31, and although they both have a SD memory card expansion slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB, the Galaxy A9 (2018) also has 128 GB internal memory capacity. The Samsung Galaxy M31 features a bit better processing power than Galaxy A9 (2018). Both have 8 processing cores and 6 GB of RAM memory.
Galaxy M31 has a very superior battery lifetime than Galaxy A9 (2018), because it has 6000mAh of battery capacity. The Galaxy M31 captures better pictures and videos than Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not so good for shooting photographs or videos in low light environments, and they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Galaxy M31 also counts with a lot larger back camera sensor taking way higher quality photos and videos and a much higher resolution back facing camera.
