Comparison review
The Samsung Galaxy M31 is a little bit better than the Xperia XZ2 Compact, having an 86.5 score against 79. Samsung Galaxy M31's construction is newer and noticeably thinner, but also somewhat heavier than the Xperia XZ2 Compact. These devices include Android OS (Operating System), but the Samsung Galaxy M31 has the previous 11 version while Xperia XZ2 Compact has Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact features a little more vivid screen than Galaxy M31, because although it has a lot smaller display and a quite lower resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, it also counts with a bit more pixels per inch in the display and a lot brighter screen. The Xperia XZ2 Compact has just a little better processing power than Galaxy M31, although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, they both have 8 CPU cores.

The Galaxy M31 counts with a slightly bigger storage capacity for games and applications than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Galaxy M31 also has an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB. Galaxy M31 features a superior battery duration than Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 109 percent bigger battery capacity.
