Comparison review
Galaxy M40 is slightly better than the Xperia XZ3, getting a general score of 85 against 79.6. Both devices in this comparison review work with Android operating system, but Galaxy M40 has the previous 10 version while Xperia XZ3 has Android 9.0 Pie. Galaxy M40 is a notably thinner and somewhat lighter phone than Xperia XZ3, although both were released with only a couple months difference.
The Xperia XZ3 counts with a much better display than Galaxy M40, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a higher resolution of 1440 x 2880px and a higher screen density. The Galaxy M40 has a very superior storage for applications and games than Xperia XZ3, and although they both have a slot for an external memory card that holds a maximum of 512 GB, the Galaxy M40 also has 64 GB more internal storage capacity.
The Xperia XZ3 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy M40, although it has 2 GB less RAM, they both have a Octa-Core CPU. The Samsung Galaxy M40 counts with a little longer battery duration than Xperia XZ3, because it has a 3500mAh battery size. Galaxy M40 captures just a bit better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia XZ3, because although it has a smaller back-facing camera sensor capturing less light and washed colors, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Galaxy M40 also counts with a camera with a lot higher resolution and a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better low light photos.
