IPhone 8 Plus has an overall score of 87.1, which is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Note9's 87.1 general score. Although iPhone 8 Plus is older and just a little heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Note9, it's design is still thinner. The Apple iPhone 8 Plus counts with a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy Note9, because although it has a lower amount of RAM memory and a lower number of cores, it also counts with a 64 bits CPU.

Samsung Galaxy Note9 has a bit more vivid screen than iPhone 8 Plus, because it has a better count of pixels per inch in the screen, a larger display and a much better 1440 x 2960 resolution. The Samsung Galaxy Note9 counts with a little bit better memory for games and applications than iPhone 8 Plus, because although it has just 128 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for an SD memory card that holds a maximum of 512 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Note9 has just a bit better camera than iPhone 8 Plus, and although they both have a same resolution camera, the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Samsung Galaxy Note9 also has a bigger aperture and a larger sensor which gives a better image and video quality.

So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy iPhone 8 Plus, else you can save a couple dollars and get the Samsung Galaxy Note9, letting go a couple features and specifications.
