The Galaxy Note9 is much better than Motorola Edge 40, getting an 87.1 score against 77.2. Galaxy Note9's construction is way older, thicker and heavier than the Motorola Edge 40. The Motorola Edge 40 has a bit sharper screen than Galaxy Note9, because although it has a lot lower 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and a bit less pixels per inch of display, it also counts with a little larger screen.
The Galaxy Note9 counts with a much better hardware performance than Motorola Edge 40, although it has less RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores. The Motorola Edge 40 takes better photos and videos than Galaxy Note9, because although it has worse video frame rate, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the Motorola Edge 40 also counts with a much larger sensor which provides a much better photo and video quality, a much higher resolution camera in the back and a larger camera aperture.
Samsung Galaxy Note9 features a much greater storage for games and applications than Motorola Edge 40, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy Note9 also has a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB. Motorola Edge 40 features a little longer battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Note9, because it has a 4400mAh battery size against 4000mAh.
