Huawei P40 Pro has an overall score of 88.2, which is a little bit better than the Sony Xperia 5's 81 general score. Even being the best in this comparison review, the Huawei P40 Pro construction is just a little bit thicker and a lot heavier than Sony Xperia 5. The Huawei P40 Pro and Xperia 5 feature quite similar screens, because although the Huawei P40 Pro has a just a bit worse pixels density, it also counts with a bit larger screen and a slightly better 1200 x 2640 resolution.
The Xperia 5 features a very superior memory for games and applications than Huawei P40 Pro, and although they both have the same internal storage capacity, the Xperia 5 also has an external SD slot that supports up to 512 GB. The Xperia 5 and the Huawei P40 Pro both have very similar CPUs, and although the Huawei P40 Pro has a higher amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core CPU.
Huawei P40 Pro counts with longer battery life than Xperia 5, because it has 4200mAh of battery capacity against 3140mAh. The Huawei P40 Pro has a very superior camera than Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not nice for capturing photos and videos in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same (4K) video quality, the Huawei P40 Pro also counts with higher 60 fps video frame rates, a much bigger back-facing camera sensor and a back camera with a way higher resolution.
