Comparison review
Sony Xperia XZ3 is just a bit better than the Moto Z2 Play, having a score of 79.6 against 77.4. Sony Xperia XZ3's design is newer than the Moto Z2 Play's, but it is incredibly heavier and noticeably thicker. The Xperia XZ3 counts with a bit superior processing unit than Moto Z2 Play. Both of them have 4 GB of RAM and 8 cores.
The Xperia XZ3 features a more vivid screen than Moto Z2 Play, because it has a much better 1440 x 2880 resolution, a little bigger display and a greater pixel count in each inch in the screen. The Motorola Moto Z2 Play counts with a lot bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Sony Xperia XZ3, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Motorola Moto Z2 Play also has a slot for an external memory card that holds up to 1,95 TB.
The Sony Xperia XZ3 features a little longer battery lifetime than Moto Z2 Play, because it has 3330mAh of battery capacity. The Xperia XZ3 captures much better pictures and videos than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for low light photos and video, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Xperia XZ3 also counts with a back-facing camera with a way higher resolution.
Although Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Motorola Moto Z2 Play. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Xperia XZ3, else you can save some money and buy the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, resigning some features and specifications.
