Galaxy A8 Star is better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, getting a score of 82.1 against 74.4. Galaxy A8 Star's construction is just a bit thinner but a bit heavier than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, and they were released with only 6 months difference. Both of these phones work with Android operating system, but Galaxy A8 Star has a newer 9.0 Pie version and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has Android 7.1 Nougat.
