Alcatel OneTouch Idol 2 Review

Alcatel OneTouch Idol 2 is a quite good Android cellphone released in 2014, featuring a 1.3 gigahertz Quad-Core processing unit, a good size 5 inches multi-touch screen, and 2 cameras, an 8 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 2 MP front facing camera.

Although this cellphone just has 5.37 inches long and 2.76 inches wide, it still manages to contain a 5" display. Being just 0.29" thick,this cellphone is very thin and comfortable. This cellphone feels much lighter than what one would expect from a device of this size.

Alcatel decided to equip this phone with a very powerful Quad-Core processor ticking at 1.3 gigahertz and only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a little bit poor for such a great phone. A good advantage of this phone is the 16 GB quite large internal memory and a slot for SD memory cards, which allows you to install a couple hundred applications without worrying about space.

This cellphone is equipped with two cameras, an 8 megapixels back camera and a 2 megapixels front camera. This cellphone also shoots videos up to 1920x1080 (Full HD). This camera also features some useful characteristics: auto-focus, flash and HDR mode.

This cellphone has a nice 960 x 540 5 inches screen, which makes all pictures and movies look beautiful. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 2 comes with a 2000 mAh medium capacity removable battery that can keep it running for some hours, but you may need to charge it if you use it heavily. Alcatel claims this phone has a stand by time of 550 hs and a talk time of 15 hs.

This cellphone includes wifi capability (which it can provide to other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot) and fast 3G connectivity, over HSUPA technologies. This phone supports dual sim cards so it can to work with two different phone lines and even different carriers in the same phone.

The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 2 also includes a handful of nice characteristics like NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your phone close to another NFC device or tag), Bluetooth (provides communication with other devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Geolocation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone is priced around $ 80, quite high for this type of cellphone. The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 2 is the right choice if you want a device to play games or want a social cellphone.
