HTC Trophy Review

Score: 54.8 / 100

HTC Trophy is a mid-level phone launched some years ago, in 2011, equipped with a 5 megapixels back facing camera, a CPU clocking at 1000 megahertz and a 3.8" display. We will get a better idea about this phone's specs when we get into specific details.

HTC equipped the HTC Trophy with a powerful 1 GHz CPU, packed into the Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 QSD8250 chip and 576 MB RAM memory. Graphic rendering generally uses lots of processing time, so this phone also has an Adreno 200 graphics processing unit clocking at 128 megahertz to help with that calculations. This phone counts with a 16 GB quite large internal storage and while it doesn't count with a slot for SD memory cards, it is enough to install a couple hundred apps, but it may not be suitable if you are planning to install a couple of the heaviest games available nowadays.

It seems like HTC forgot about weight optimization in this 4.9 oz cellphone.

This cellphone is equipped with a very good 3.8 inches display with a 800 x 480 resolution, which makes everything look great. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

The HTC Trophy counts with Wi-Fi capability (but it can't share it with other devices acting as a wireless modem or router) and fast 3G connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS, EV-DO A and EDGE technologies. The HTC Trophy works with a SIM card for GSM carriers and it can work with both GSM and CDMA.

The HTC Trophy only has a 5 megapixels back side camera. It is also able to capture HD 1280x720 videos at 24 fps. To complete the camera, it also has flash and auto-focus.

This cellphone also comes with some cool characteristics such as Bluetooth (enables communication with other bluetooth devices and accessories), GPS and FM Radio, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The HTC Trophy comes with a 1300 mAh medium Li-Ion replaceable battery providing this cellphone with a below average battery life. This device has a reported talk time of 4.9 hs and a stand by time of 286 hours.

HTC sells the HTC Trophy for $ 80, which is not so cheap for a cellphone this level. If you are looking for a phone to majorly use social networks, this cellphone is the correct choice for you.
