Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ Review

Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ is a complete cellphone released back in the year 2013, including a high speed Octa-Core processing unit speeding at 2000 MHz, a quite big 5-inches multi-touch screen, and two cameras, a 13.1 megapixels back camera and a 2 mega-pixels front-facing camera.

Alcatel equipped this cellphone with a MediaTek MT6592 system chip, holding a great Octa-Core processing unit running at 2000 MHz and a big 2 GB of RAM memory. Graphic calculations generally consume a lot of CPU cycles, so it counts with a 700 megahertz ARM Mali-450 MP4 graphic processing unit to improve overall performance. A good point of this cellphone is its 16 GB quite large internal storage memory and while it doesn't have an SD extension slot, it should be enough to store a couple hundred apps and games, although it probably wouldn't be suitable if you are fan of the heaviest games available nowadays or taking tons of pictures and videos.

Alcatel made this phoneavailable only in two different color options: black and white. This phone is just 0.32" thick, making it one of the thinnest phones in the market. This phone is only 5.53" long, but it is able to fit a a 5" screen. Alcatel did a very good design job making the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ weight just 4.41 ounces.

Alcatel equipped this cellphone with a high-tech 5-inches screen, and a 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution, making everything look beautiful and brightful. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This phone is equipped with two cameras, a 13.1 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 2 mega-pixels front facing camera. It can also capture 1920x1080 Full HD videos at 30 fps. In addition, the camera counts with multiple valuable characteristics: auto-focus, flash, digital image stabilization, face detection shooting, geo tagging and HDR mode.

This phone features wifi capability (although it can't share it with other devices around, acting as a modem or router), HSPA+ (4G) data connection, that is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and fast 3G data connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This cellphone has two Micro SIM cards so it's able to use two different carriers or phone numbers at the same time.

This phone also comes with some nice characteristics like Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Navigation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ packs a 2500 mAh large Li-Ion non-replaceable battery that provides this device a marvelous battery duration. This cellphone has an aproximate 27 hours talk time and a 650 hs stand by time according to Alcatel. An issue to take into account is that the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+'s battery isn't removable so you won't be able to replace it when it begins to live shorter, though with such a great capacity you will probably discard this cellphone before it becomes an issue.

Alcatel offers this phone for 350 dollars, which is expensive for this kind of cellphone. It doesn't matter whether you are looking for a device to mainly use social networks, will use this device to play games, want this phone to take plenty of pictures or need a cellphone for work, you will definitely be very happy with it.
