Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon Review

Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon is a pretty good Android device, counting with a fast Quad-Core CPU clocking at 1200 megahertz, a pretty large 5-inches screen, a 5 mega-pixels back side camera and a 0.3 MP front side camera.

This phone is much lighter than what you would expect from a phone of this size. While the Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon is only 5.55" long and 2.84" wide, it's able to fit a a 5 inches display. This phone is just 0.39 inches thick, taking it to the thinnest cellphone's category.

Alcatel decided to design the Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon using a powerful 1200 MHz Quad-Core processing unit and 1 GB RAM. This device counts with a 4 GB internal storage memory, a medium amount that should be enough for most users considering it also has an SD memory slot to store photos and videos.

This cellphone features two cameras, a 5 MP back side camera and a 0.3 MP front side camera. It can also film 1280x720 HD videos at 30 fps. This cellphone also counts with a couple of nice features: flash, auto-focus, geo tagging and face detection shooting.

Alcatel designed this cellphone with a very good 5" display, and a resolution of 960 x 540 , providing this device with a good level image quality. Its display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

This phone uses a mid capacity 2000 mAh removable battery providing this cellphone with a poor battery life. This cellphone has an aproximate 800 hs stand by time and a 13 hs talk time.

The Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon offers wi-fi capability (and it can be provided to other devices acting as a wireless router or modem), HSPA+ 4G connectivity, which is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and fast 3G data connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This phone works with a Micro SIM card for GSM services.

The Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon also includes a couple of cool features as Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Localization, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The Alcatel OneTouch POP Icon is not very cheap considering it is offerred for $ 165, while some similar cellphones can be found for much less money. If you want a cellphone to mostly use social networks, you will probably be very satisfied with it.
