BlackBerry Torch 9860 Review

(9860)     See other variants reviews Score: 50.1 / 100

BlackBerry Torch 9860 is a decent quality cellphone released in August 2011, packed with a 5 mega-pixels back camera, a processing unit ticking at 1.2 gigahertz and a 3.7 inches multi touch screen.

Blackberry decided to build this cellphone using a fast CPU running at 1.2 gigahertz with 768 MB of RAM. This cellphone counts with a 4 GB internal storage memory, a reasonable amount that should be fine for the average user knowing that it also has an external memory slot to store photos and videos.

This phone doesn't feel very lightweight comparing to other phones , with a weight of 4.76 oz. This phone is quite slim and practical, while it's not close to being one of the thinnest cellphones out there, with a thickness of 0.45".

This cellphone has a very good 3.7 inches screen with a 800 x 480 resolution, which makes it hard to see the pixels that compose the screen. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

This cellphone includes Wi-Fi connection (but it can't provide it to other devices acting as a router or modem) and 3G fast internet connection, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device works with a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

This device only has a 5 megapixels back facing camera. It also films videos in HD 1280x720. The camera also features a few nice characteristics: flash, auto-focus, digital image stabilization, face detection shooting and geo tagging.

This device uses a 1230 mAh medium capacity Li-Ion removable battery that provides this cellphone a quite short battery life. Blackberry claims this cellphone has a 4.7 hs talk time and a 334 hours stand by time.

This cellphone also comes with a few interesting characteristics like Bluetooth (2.1, EDR) and GPS Geolocation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone is being sold for about 609 dollars, not cheap for a cellphone this level.
