GIGABYTE GSmart Arty A3 Review

Score: 49.7 / 100

GIGABYTE GSmart Arty A3 is a decently made cellphone, which features a great Quad-Core processor running at 1300 MHz, a big 5-inches multi-touch screen, and 2 cameras, an 8 megapixels back facing camera and a 2 megapixels front facing camera.

Gigabyte didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 5.82 oz cellphone. This phone is a compact phone, taking into consideration it features a 5" display and it is just 5.71" long. The GIGABYTE GSmart Arty A3 is incredibly slim and comfortable, with a thickness of just 0.37".

This device ships with a Mediatek MT6582 system chip, which holds a very fast Quad-Core processing unit speeding at 1.3 GHz and only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a little bit disappointing considering this phone's awesome CPU. Graphic calculations often eats lots of processor time, so this device counts with an additional 416 megahertz ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU to take some work out of the processor. This cellphone counts with a 4 GB internal storage, a reasonable quantity that should be adequate for most users having that this device also has an SD card slot to store songs, photos and videos and even some games and apps that allow external memory installation.

The GIGABYTE GSmart Arty A3 has a good level 854 x 480 5-inches screen, which makes all photos and movies look nice. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

This phone includes wifi capability (although it can't share it with other devices acting as a hotspot), HSPA+ 4G internet connection, that is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE 4G networks and 3G fast internet connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The GIGABYTE GSmart Arty A3 has 2 SIM cards to be able to to work with 2 different phone lines or carriers in the same cellphone.

This cellphone has two cameras, an 8 MP back camera and a 2 MP front facing camera. The camera also includes flash and auto-focus.

This cellphone features a mid capacity 2000 mAh Li-Ion removable battery that provides this cellphone a not very long battery durationcompared to other cellphones. Gigabyte reports a 8 hs talk time and a 300 hs stand by time for this cellphone.

This phone also comes with a couple of useful characteristics as Bluetooth (for communication with other bluetooth phones, computers and accessories), GPS (Global Positioning System) and Radio, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This phone is priced about 249 dollars, which is a really high price for this type of device.
