Huawei Ascend Y520 Review

Huawei Ascend Y520 is a mid-level phone, having a great Dual-Core processor clocking at 1.3 GHz, a 4.5" capacitive display, and 2 cameras, a 5 MP back-facing camera and a 0.3 MP front facing camera. That's everything we have to say? Not at all, it's only the introduction of a much deeper review.

Huawei appears to have forgotten about weight optimization in this 5.29 oz cellphone. This phone is quite slim and practical, though it's not close to being one of the thinnest cellphones nowadays, with a thickness of 0.4 inches. This phone is offerred in many different color options, black, pink, blue and white.

This device includes a very good 854 x 480 4.5-inches screen, giving this device a very nice image quality. This screen uses LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multi touch gestures.

Huawei decided to build this cellphone with a MediaTek MT6572 chip, backed up by an extremely powerful 1300 megahertz Dual-Core processing unit with only 512 MB RAM which is a little poor comparing with its impressive processor. Graphic intensive applications and games generally consume lots of CPU cycles, so it also counts with a 500 megahertz Mali-400 graphics processing unit to take care of them, leaving the processor free for other tasks. This phone counts with an average 4 GB internal storage, which is adequate for most users considering this phone also has an external SD slot .

This cellphone has two cameras, a 5 megapixels back side camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera. The camera also has geo tagging and flash.

This phone features wi-fi connection (but it can't share it with other devices around, as a mobile mobile hotspot) and fast 3G internet connection, supported by HSPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. The Huawei Ascend Y520 uses a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

The Huawei Ascend Y520 also includes a couple nice features such as Bluetooth (EDR) and GPS Navigation, and some sensors likeLight Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

The Huawei Ascend Y520 comes with a good 1730 mAh battery, which is not really enough for a consuming cellphone like this.

This device is really overpriced considering it is sold for 249 dollars, and some similar cellphones are sold for much less than that. It doesn't matter whether you will use it majorly for internet broswing and social networks or are looking for a cellphone for playing games, this cellphone is a great option for you.
