LAVA Iris 460 Review

LAVA Iris 460 is a fair quality Android cellphone, featuring an exceptional Dual-Core processing unit speeding at 1.3 GHz, a medium 4.5-inches display, and 2 cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back camera and a 0.3 MP front facing camera. Great! That's it? No, it's just the beginning.

The LAVA Iris 460 is available in two colors, black and gray. The LAVA Iris 460 is just 0.34" thick, making its way into the thinnest cellphones podium. Though this cellphone is just 5.12 inches long, it's able to fit a a 4.5" display.

This phone is powered by a high-tech 1.3 GHz Dual-Core processor with only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a bit poor comparing with its impressive processor. Graphic calculations usually uses a lot of processing power, so the LAVA Iris 460 has an ARM Mali-400 GPU running at 500 MHz to help with that calculations. This phone comes with an 8 GB interesting internal storage and an external memory card slot, which allows you to install hundreds of games and applications without worrying about space.

This phone is equipped with two cameras, a 5 megapixels back camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. This device can also capture videos in 1280x720 (HD). This phone also has lots of valuable features: flash, face detection shooting, auto-focus, smile detection shooting, HDR mode and geo tagging.

This cellphone includes a nice 4.5" screen with a 854 x 480 resolution, giving this cellphone a very nice graphic quality. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.

This cellphone uses a good 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is quite poor for a thirsty phone like this. According to Lava, this cellphone has a reported 250 hs stand by time and a 6 hs talk time.

The LAVA Iris 460 counts with WiFi connectivity (but it can't be shared with other devices acting as a hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) connectivity, that is not so fast as LTE networks and fast 3G internet connection, supported by HSDPA technologies. This phone has dual SIM so it is able to work with two different carriers or phone numbers.

The LAVA Iris 460 also features some cool characteristics such as Bluetooth (allows communication with other bluetooth phones and accessories), GPS and Radio, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This cellphone is really expensive considering it is priced 249 dollars, while some similar phones are offerred way cheaper than that.
