HTC Surround is a bit outdated Windows Phone 7.5 Mango phone released back in the year 2010, equipped with a good performance CPU running at 1 gigahertz, a 5 megapixels back camera and a medium 3.8-inches screen.
The HTC Surround is quite heavy for a phone of this size, with a weight of 5.82 ounces. This cellphone is a bit thick for today's standards, being as thick as 0.51".
HTC decided to sell this device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 QSD8250 system chip, backed up by a good performance processing unit running at 1 gigahertz with just 448 MB of RAM memory. To help with graphic rendering, it also uses an Adreno 200 GPU ticking at 128 MHz. This phone has a 16 GB quite large internal storage and although it doesn't have a slot for an SD memory card, it should be enough to install hundreds of apps and games, but it might not be suitable if you are planning to install a couple of the heaviest games currently available.
This cellphone only features a 5 mega-pixels back camera. It can also shoot videos in 1280x720 (HD) at 24 fps. This device also features flash and auto-focus.
HTC packed this phone with a good looking 3.8-inches screen, and a resolution of 800 x 480 , giving this phone a nice graphic quality. Its screen uses LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch for gestures like pinch and zoom.
This cellphone counts with a 1230 mAh medium Li-Ion removable battery that provides this phone a not very long battery duration. HTC reports a stand by time of 275 hours and a talk time of 4 hs for this cellphone.
This cellphone includes wifi capability (but it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a hotspot) and 3G fast connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device uses a SIM card for GSM networks.
This phone also includes a handful of cool features as Bluetooth (2.1, EDR) and GPS, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
This device is not a very good choice considering it is priced 140 dollars, and many similar cellphones are sold for much less than that.
