LG Optimus 3D Review

LG Optimus 3D is a mid level cellphone, packing a 4.3" multi-touch screen, a great performance 1 GHz Dual-Core processing unit, a 5 megapixels back camera and a 0.3 megapixels front-facing camera. That's all? No, it's only the starting point of this in-depth review.

The LG Optimus 3D is available in two color options, black and white. LG didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 5.93 oz device.

LG decided to power this phone with a good performance 1 gigahertz Dual-Core processing unit, included in the TI OMAP 4430 chip with 512 MB of RAM memory. Collaborating with graphic intensive games and apps, this cellphone also has a 200 MHz PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit. This cellphone has an 8 GB quite big internal memory and an SD extension slot, enough to install hundreds of apps without any trouble.

This phone is equipped with a interesting 800 x 480 4.3" display, making everything look great. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

This cellphone includes WiFi connection (but it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) internet connection, which is not so fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and fast 3G connection type, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone works with a SIM card for GSM connection.

This phone features two cameras, a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front facing camera. Its back-facing camera has an aperture of f/2.8 so it's problems taking sharp pictures in dark environments. It can also capture videos in Full HD 1920x1080 at 24 frames per second, and 1280x720 HD slow-motion videos up to 30 fps. This device also includes some good characteristics: auto-focus, flash and digital image stabilization.

This phone counts with a good 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery that provides this cellphone a below average battery life comparing with other similar cellphones. This device has an aproximate stand by time of 96 hs and a talk time of 4 hours.

This cellphone also features a handful of cool characteristics such as Bluetooth (3.0, EDR) and GPS Localization, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

LG offers this cellphone for $ 229, which is not cheap for a phone this level. No matter if you want it to play games or need a cellphone to mostly use social networks, this device is definitely the correct choice for you.
