Micromax Canvas Selfie Review

(A255) Score: 57 / 100

Micromax Canvas Selfie is a nice Android cellphone, coming with a 4.7-inches touch-screen, a high-tech Octa-Core CPU speeding at 1.7 GHz, and 2 cameras, a 13 MP back facing camera and a 13 MP front camera. Is that all? No, it's just the introduction of a detailed review.

Micromax made this cellphone in two color options, blue and white. This cellphone is only 0" long, but it is still able to fit a a 4.7" screen.

Micromax packed this cellphone with an astonishing 4.7-inches screen, and a resolution of 1280 x 720 (HD), which makes everything look brightful and colorful. This screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and can detect multiple fingers at the same time.

Micromax decided to design this cellphone using a MediaTek MT6592 system chip, including an extremely powerful 1.7 GHz Octa-Core processing unit and a big 2 GB RAM memory. Graphic calculations often eats a lot of processor time, so the Micromax Canvas Selfie counts with an extra 700 megahertz ARM Mali-450 MP4 graphics processing unit to help handle those graphic tasks. A nice advantage of this phone is its quite big 16 GB internal memory and an SD memory slot, enough to install a couple hundred apps without running out of space.

This cellphone has two cameras, a 13 megapixels back camera and a 13 megapixels front side camera. It is also able to shoot 1920x1080 Full HD videos at 30 fps. Additionally, this cellphone's camera also includes a few nice characteristics like auto-focus, flash, geo tagging and face detection shooting.

The Micromax Canvas Selfie comes with an incredible 2300 mAh Li-Ion replaceable battery, which isn't very promising for a cellphone like this. Micromax claims this device has a talk time of 8.5 hours and a stand by time of 198 hs.

This phone has WiFi capability (and it can provide it to other devices around, as a mobile hotspot), 4G (HSPA+) connectivity, which is not so fast as LTE networks and 3G fast connection type, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. The Micromax Canvas Selfie has dual SIM to be able to to use two different phone numbers or carriers.

This device also features some cool characteristics such as Bluetooth (4.0), GPS Navigation and FM Radio, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

This phone is not very cheap considering it is sold for $ 165, and many similar cellphones are being sold for much less than that. No matter whether you will use this cellphone to play games or need a device majorly for internet broswing and social networks, this phone is probably a very good choice for you.
