Motorola DROID 2 is a fair quality Android device launched in 2010, counting with a 5 mega-pixels back camera, a great performance CPU ticking at 1 GHz and a medium sized 3.7-inches multi touch screen.
Motorola decided to sell this device with a fast 1 gigahertz processor, packed into a TI OMAP3630 chip and 512 MB of RAM. To help with graphic calculations, it also counts with a 200 megahertz PowerVR SGX530 graphic processing unit. This device counts with anice 8 GB internal memory and a slot for external memory cards, allowing you to install a couple hundred applications without any trouble.
This time, Motorola forgot about optimizing the weight, releasing a 5.96 oz heavyweight product. This phone is quite thick compared to nowadays cellphones, with a thickness of 0.54 inches.
The Motorola DROID 2 has only a 5 mega-pixels back-facing camera. It is capable of shooting videos in 720x480 at 30 frames per second. To complete the camera, it also has a few nice characteristics like flash, geo tagging and auto-focus.
Motorola packed this cellphone with a nice 3.7-inches display, and a 854 x 480 resolution, giving this cellphone a good level graphical experience. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.
The Motorola DROID 2 counts with WiFi connectivity (and it can be shared with other devices as a mobile hotspot) and 3G internet connection, using EV-DO A technologies. This phone doesn't have a SIM card, because it doesn't support GSM networks and it can work with CDMA carriers.
This cellphone also includes a couple of useful characteristics as Bluetooth (for communication with other cellphones, computers and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.
The Motorola DROID 2 uses a medium capacity 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery providing this phone with a below average battery life. This cellphone has an aproximate 9.6 hs talk time and a 315 hs stand by time according to Motorola.
The Motorola DROID 2 is not very cheap considering it costs $ 165, while other similar phones are sold for much less than that.
