Nokia Asha 230 Review

Dual SIM (RM-987)     See other variants reviews Score: 40.8 / 100

Nokia Asha 230 is a low end phone, coming with a small sized 2.8-inches display, a 1.3 megapixels back facing camera and a fast Dual-Core processing unit ticking at 1200 MHz. Is that all? Not at all, it's only the shortest summary in history.

This phone ships with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8225 chip, packing a great performance Dual-Core processor clocking at 1.2 gigahertz with just 64 MB of RAM memory. Helping with graphic rendering, it also uses an Adreno 203 GPU working at 245 MHz.

This phone is quite thick for today's standards, being as thick as 0.52". This cellphone isn't a compact device, taking into account that it is 3.92" long, but it only holds a 2.8 inches screen. This cellphone is for sale in a lot of color variations like black, yellow, green, blue, red and white. This phone is much lighter than what one would expect from a cellphone like this.

This cellphone only has a 1.3 mega-pixels back-facing camera. Its back-facing camera has a maximum 2.8 aperture so it has a lot of trouble taking clear photos in low light conditions. It is capable of filming QVGA 320x240 videos at 25 frames per second. Additionally, the camera includes digital image stabilization.

Nokia equipped this cellphone with a nice 2.8-inches display, and a 320 x 240 (QVGA) resolution, which makes everything look quite colorful and brightful. This display uses LCD capacitive technology, but it can't detect multi touch gestures.

This phone includes 3G connectivity, using EDGE technologies. This cellphone supports dual sim cards so it is able to work with 2 different phone lines or carriers in the same cellphone.

This cellphone also comes with Bluetooth (3.0), and a few sensors likeProximity Sensor and Accelerometer.

This phone comes with a 1020 mAh small capacity Li-Ion battery, which is quite poor for a consuming phone like this. According to Nokia, this device has a reported 11 hours talk time and a 792 hours stand by time.

Nokia is selling the Nokia Asha 230 for $ 269, which is expensive for this kind of cellphone. This cellphone includes Nokia Stereo Headset WH-108, Quick guide, Nokia Battery BL-5C and Nokia Charger AC-18.
