Nokia Lumia 920 is a high-level cellphone released some years ago, in 2012, counting with a medium 4.5 inches display, an extremely fast Dual-Core processor ticking at 1.5 gigahertz, and two cameras, an 8.7 MP back camera and a 1.3 megapixels front camera. That's all? No, it's only the starting point of this extreme review.
Nokia is offering this phone in a variety of color variations like black, gray, yellow, red and white. It appears that Nokia decided not to care about this device weight at all, releasing it with a 6.53 ounces weight. Although this cellphone is quite slim it's not close to being one of the thinnest phones out there, with a thickness of 0.42". This cellphone is quite a compact phone, given that it has a 4.5 inches screen and it is just 5.13" long and 2.79" wide.
This phone includes an amazing 4.5" screen with a 1280 x 768 resolution, giving this phone a delightful graphic quality. Its screen uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, with a brightness of 600 candela/m2 and allows multi-touch gestures.
Nokia decided to design this phone using an extremely powerful 1.5 gigahertz Dual-Core CPU, included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 chip and only 1 GB RAM memory which is a bit disappointing considering the Lumia 920's awesome processor. Graphic intensive games and applications often uses a lot of processing power, so it uses an extra Adreno 225 graphics processing unit speeding at 400 MHz to help the CPU with those tasks. A great point of this cellphone is the 32 GB astonishing internal storage memory and although it doesn't have a slot for SD memory cards, it it is more than enough to store lots of apps, games, photos and videos without thinking about running out of space.
This device features two cameras, an 8.7 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front facing camera. Its back-facing camera lens has a 2 aperture so it can shoot very nice photos even in low lighting situations. It also films videos in 1920x1080 (Full HD) at 30 frames per second. This cellphone also features a few nice features: flash, optical image stabilization, auto-focus, face detection shooting and geo tagging.
This cellphone comes with a good 2000 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery that provides this cellphone a not very long battery durationcompared to other devices. Nokia informs a 18.6 hours talk time and a 460 hs stand by time for this phone. A big issue to consider is that this device's battery is non-replaceable so you can't buy a new battery when it begins to live shorter, making it necessary to change the whole cellphone or hopefully take it to someone who can open the device and switch its battery.
This cellphone features wi-fi connectivity (and it can be provided to other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G (LTE) fast connection and also HSPA+ connectivity, a bit slower 4G technology and the fastest 3G internet connection, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This cellphone uses a Micro SIM card for GSM connection.
The Nokia Lumia 920 also comes with many useful features such as Wireless charging capability, NFC (Near Field Communication), Bluetooth (allows communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS (Global Positioning System), and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.
Nokia is offering the Nokia Lumia 920 for 135 dollars, which is a quite high price for this type of cellphone. No matter whether you want this device for gaming, you love taking photos, will use it for work or want this cellphone majorly for social networks, you will definitely be very pleased with this phone. If you buy this cellphone you will also get Nokia Charging and Data Cable CA-190CD, Nokia Headset WH-208, Nokia Fast USB Charger AC-16 and Quick guide.
