Nokia N96 Review

Nokia N96 is a low level Symbian cellphone released in February 2008, with a 5 MP back camera and a little 2.8-inches display. Is that all? No, it's just the tip of the iceberg.

This cellphone is a bit thick compared to today's devices, with a thickness of 0.7 inches. Even though the Nokia N96 is 4.05 inches long and 2.16 inches wide, it only holds a way smaller 2.8" display. In this case, Nokia decided not to care about this cellphone weight at all, putting together a 4.4 ounces product.

The Nokia N96 comes with a 16 GB quite large internal storage memory and an SD memory card expansion slot, enough to install a couple hundred applications without running out of space.

This cellphone includes a good level 2.8-inches screen with a 320 x 240 (QVGA) resolution, which makes everything look good.

This phone provides Wi-Fi connectivity (but it can't be provided to other devices around, acting as a router) and fast 3G connection type, over HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Nokia N96 works with a SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

The Nokia N96 is equipped with only a 5 megapixels back side camera. Its back side camera has a maximum 2.8 aperture so it's problems taking clear photos in poor lighting environments. It is also able to film 640x480 VGA videos at 30 frames per second. Additionally, the camera counts with flash and auto-focus.

This cellphone also comes with a couple interesting characteristics such as Bluetooth (2.0, EDR), GPS and TV Reception, and Accelerometer.

This cellphone counts with a 950 mAh small sized Li-Ion replaceable battery, which is quite poor for a cellphone like this. According to Nokia, this phone has a reported stand by time of 220 hs and a talk time of 3.7 hours.

This cellphone costs around 355 dollars, a very high price for this kind of phone.
